Graduate Student

Sofia Calderon

Sofia Calderon is a first-year Master of Social Work student at George Mason University. She graduated from William & Mary with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Her interest in how systems and environments shape both adversity and resilience at the individual level has influenced her decision to pursue her MSW. She views working in the Resilient Families Lab as an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of grandparent-headed households, a family structure whose unique strengths and challenges are often overlooked and are more complex than many realize.
